Cyberpunk 2077 Has No Plans For Xbox Game Pass

It is no surprise, but CD Projekt Red has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 has “no plans” to be on Xbox Game Pass. CDPR’s Radek Grabowski confirmed this on Twitter recently.

“No Game Pass plans for Cyberpunk 2077,” he said.

Grabowski’s tweet came in response to a Twitter thread about the possibility of Microsoft paying third-party developers a fee to launch their games on Xbox Game Pass to help promote the subscription service.

VentureBeat reported that it heard “ubsubstantiated rumors” that Cyberpunk 2077 will come to Game Pass not long after it releases. Microsoft and CDPR have a business partnership for Cyberpunk 2077 with a co-marketing deal that saw Microsoft create special-edition Xbox One consoles and controllers, but this partnership apparently does not extend to Game Pass, at least not right away.

Bloomberg analyst Matthew Kanterman said Cyberpunk 2077 probably won’t come to Xbox Game Pass until 2022 or later. CDPR’s The Witcher 3 is currently on Xbox Game Pass.

Cyberpunk 2077 will release for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on November 19. Next-gen upgrades for PS5 and Xbox Series X will be available for free.
