She previously told Women’s Health that exercise is a fundamental part of her day, and has a significant impact on her mental health. “[Working out] really makes me feel positive,” said Jessie J. “It releases endorphins – and I never really used to believe in that until I started working out. You do really get this sluggish feeling before a workout where you’re like, ‘Oh, I don’t want to do it,’ and you might feel a little low. But you do a workout, and it gives you that pickup. It makes me feel alive.”
A fan of gym workouts and HIIT movements, Jessie J also loves rock climbing, riding ATVs and doing daredevil jumps into a pool. Basically, she’s into fitness in all forms and her enthusiasm shows.

She loves high-intensity workouts and dance cardio
In an interview with HuffPost, Jessie J revealed that she goes all in when working out and isn’t afraid to emerge from the gym looking like she’s given it her all. “When I come out of the gym, I’m blotchy red and sweaty, but I feel good.”
She also loves cardio and does a lot of dance-based workouts. Though she revealed she hasn’t felt confident about her dancing skills in years, this hasn’t stopped the singer from trying and as far as a workout goes, it’s fun and effective.
She has an intense workout trainer
With her gruelling tour schedule, Jessie J needs to ensure she’s in the best shape she can possibly be in to meet the high-energy demands of her shows. To do this, she works out with Sonja Moses, a martial arts expert who puts her through some intense workouts. Some favourite moves include X jumps, ninja burpees, lunges with front knee kicks and more.
She loves resistance bands
Recently, Jessie J posted a a workout video to her Instagram story that showed her doing a number of exercises with a resistance band. From leg lifts to glute activation, she even did a quad workout with the band as well. Adding resistance and making her muscles work that much harder, it’s an effective way to not only target certain muscle groups, but have them work that much harder in the process.
She works her core and uses the rowing machine
Ah, the rowing machine. You either love it or hate it. While Jessie J admits she falls into the latter group, she still gets in a solid workout using the machine. As well as that, she insists that having a strong core is vital and gets her core toned with good old fashioned sit-ups.
She makes time for exercise
With her busy schedule, it’s incredible Jessie J has the time to exercise but the key thing is that the singer makes it a priority in her daily routine. Speaking to Women’s Health, she said: “You really do have to allocate time to working out. All you consist of in life is your body and I’m five-foot-nine of me. So I have to make sure that from my head to my toes, I’m doing the best I can to make my life long and healthy.”
She embraces the moment
Key to maintaining her exercise routine is having fun in the process. She regularly mixes up her training and tries new things. As Jessie J explained to Women’s Health UK, “For me, it’s a matter of choice. When you wake up in the morning, you have a choice in life. You either procrastinate and you sit back and let your dreams go by, or you enjoy the life you’ve been given, use that as great energy and dedicate your time to what you want your life to be. I try to enjoy everything I do.”
