The Walking Dead: Saint & Sinners ‘The Trial’ Horde Mode Coming to Oculus Quest in Jan

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners from Skydance Interactive has been one of the best virtual reality (VR) titles to pick during the course of 2020, with the team even managing to squeeze it onto Oculus Quest. Expanding it’s content, next month the standalone will be getting a horde gameplay mode called ‘The Trial’.

The Trial gameplay mode was first released during the summer as part of the Meatgrinder Update for PC VR and PlayStation VR owners. Taking players away from the story-driven campaign, the new mode is about pure survival, battling wave after wave of walkers in bloody combat.

To give the whole experience a more arcade-style feel, at the end of each round of The Trial players will be awarded points based on how well they performed. Multi kills, decapitations, headshots, using explosives, the more variety employed the higher the score. Naturally, points also mean prizes or more accurately the ability to purchase new weapons and crafting items to aid in the next round.

Skydance Interactive created The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners in collaboration with Skybound Entertainment, providing zombie fans with an original storyline set in New Orleans. With various parts of the city to explore, players have to scavenge buildings for food and crafting materials, where the dangerous streets involve dealing with the living as well as the undead.
