New Batman Art Book Celebrates The Wonderful Animated Series
While there has been no shortage of quality animated Batman shows, Batman: The Animated Series remains a fan-favorite 25 years after its run ended. The 85-episode arc offered a more mature look at Gotham City than we were accustomed to seeing in superhero cartoons, had a striking art style that remains captivating today, and was held together by great performances such as Mark Hamill’s Joker. If you’re a longtime fan of the series, there’s an upcoming art book that you may want to add to your shelf.
Batman: The Animated Series: The Phantom City Creative Collection is a 144-page hardcover volume designed by Mondo in collaboration with Justin Erickson. Mondo is an online art gallery known for creating limited-edition prints for popular films, TV shows, comics, and other entertainment, while Phantom City Creative makes key art for films, TV, and music.
The collaboration will bring Batman: The Animated Series to life in a new way with beautifully designed prints celebrating the history and culture around the show.
Though the art book is available to pre-order for $60 right now, it’s worth noting that almost every art book gets discounted ahead of its release. A lot of times, it’s a significant discount, too. If you pre-order now ahead of its October 6 release date, you’ll get the lowest price offered up until it ships thanks to Amazon’s pre-order price guarantee.
If you’re feeling nostalgic and want to rewatch the show itself, Batman: The Completed Animated Series on Blu-ray is available for $55 at Amazon and Best Buy, which is $15 off its list price.
