Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord Coming To Consoles October 25
TaleWorlds Entertainment has revealed that Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord will finally launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on October 25. Most likely, on that day the game will also leave Steam Early Access, where Bannerlord has been available since March 2020.
The devs initially announced their plans to bring the Mount & Blade: Warband prequel to consoles in 2015, long before the PC version hit Early Access. Koch Media's Prime Matter, which signed a deal with the developers back in 2021, will publish the title across PlayStation and Xbox platforms. As part of the deal Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord will be available globally through retail stores, in addition to digital versions.
If you prefer to own a digital copy of the game, be ready to download about 40 GB on PS4 and 34 GB on PS5, according to the PlayStation Game Size Twitter account. The medieval strategy RPG is probably of a comparable size on Xbox consoles, give or take.
Since March 2020, Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord received many updates on PC that have added whole new systems, like rebellions and prison breaks, to the already ambitious project. The game's latest major update arrived in May, bringing an additional battle game mode for up to 120 players and seven extra scenes to the table.
Mount & Blade 2 has received praise from players, currently standing at 87% positive user reviews on Steam, but has also done well on the financial side. Earlier, TaleWorlds Entertainment co-founder Armağan Yavuz revealed in an interview that the game has sold over three million units on PC. Yavuz said the modding community was really important for the studio, as a number of Mount & Blade modders have been recruited into the team over the years.
