Parent company Take-Two Interactive has confirmed its launching over 50 new games before April 2022, and there’s a good chance that GTA 6 will be among them.

The vacuum left by a big Grand Theft Auto 6 reveal is unlikely to be filled by any one game, but 62 new titles are sure to take some of the heat off Rockstar Games.

The number of titles being planned over the coming years was revealed during Take-Two’s latest earnings report.

These games were broken down into categories, with the 23 “immersive core” titles expected to include GTA 6 and its eventual release date.

Take-Two confirms that this number is fluid, as some games will be cancelled, pushed back and new ones taking their place in the future.

To help with this ramping up of projects, Take-Two has confirmed a large jump in personnel appointments, with CEO Strauss Zelnick confirming during the earning call:

“We believe that we can maintain these favorable engagement patterns as we continue to deliver the highest quality entertainment experiences that are driven by our team’s passion and commitment to creativity and innovation.

“We’ve been taking key actions to execute on our long-term strategic vision. We continue to enhance and diversify our pipeline across an array of platforms, business models and genres. To support this, we’re investing in our infrastructure and making key hires, ranging from senior talent at our labels, to the addition of more than 350 new developers during the second quarter.”

And there was also good news shared during the event that while one game has been scrapped, it wasn’t in connection with GTA 6.

Within the notes of the meeting, it was confirmed that Take-Two had taken a large $53 million charge while ending development on an unannounced title in its pipeline.

GTA Online: Rockstar Games tease The Cayo Perico Heist

This would end years of silence on Rockstar Games and would answer a vast range of questions.

Fans would likely find out the important facts, like where the game is set, what era the game will be using and the kind of world the development team are creating for GTA 6.

It would also provide the perfect chance for Rockstar to answer big questions about the future of GTA Online, including whether a next-gen version of it will be arriving alongside the next Grand Theft Auto game.

The biggest question that could be answered is when GTA 6 is coming out on PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Based on previous game launches, fans would still probably have to wait several years before the game was ready to hit shelves. Some of the earliest predictions are based on 2023, but the downside is that these most recent rumours come from unsourced information and need to be taken with a big pinch of salt.

There have so far been no hints or leaks suggesting that GTA 6 is going to be revealed this month, leaving gamers waiting for the next big reveal.
