The next Call of Duty Warzone patch being released this week is scheduled to land on Thursday, May 7.
The good news is that this latest update is expected to make some important background changes, as well as add new content.
As confirmed by developers Treyarch on Twitter, the new Carv.2 Tactical Rifle will be released as part of the latest Black Ops Cold War Season 3 expansion.
This will be packaged with a number of other changes, including new maps and additional mode options for some fan-favourite activities.
The Yamantau + Diesel 24/7 playlist hits Multiplayer this week, and will allow everyone to jump into Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Hardpoint on Season Three’s newest 6v6 maps.
This also includes Prop Hunt, which will boast Yamantau and Diesel as official map options after the Thursday update.
Meanwhile, Gunfight Blueprints is also scheduled to return to Featured Playlists this week with the latest Weapon Blueprints for players to get their hands on in 2v2.
When it comes to Cold War and Call of Duty Warzone meta changes, Treyarch has confirmed that the new Carv.2 rifle will be going live on May 6.
The CARV.2 tactical rifle will be available to unlock via in-game challenges, with Activision telling fans: “This burst-fire weapon stands out in the tactical rifle class with its high bullet velocity output, offering powerful damage, solid recoil control, and a large ammo pool from the start.
“Next up is “Plastik Prototype,” a four-item bundle featuring the Legendary “Konsole” Blueprint version of this week’s new tactical rifle. Also included are the “Lazer Gun” Emblem, “Launch Control” Sticker, and “Brick,” an ’80s-style cell phone Charm.
“Finally, players can experience Heaven and Hell with the “Angels & Demons Anime Reactive” bundle. Topping the bundle are the Ultra “Cursed Angel” Assault Rifle Blueprint and the Legendary “Divine Blossom” Sniper Rifle Blueprint.

“Also included are two Legendary Calling Cards — “Angel’s Grace” and “Demon’s Lust” — as well as the Legendary “Sword Singer” Emblem and the Rare “Good & Evil” Charm.”
We don’t have a precise time to expect the new Warzone update to arrive but we would expect it to be available to download before 7pm BST.
This week’s Call of Duty Warzone update is also expected to make other changes that will help balance other areas of the game.
After one fan asked whether The Streetsweeper shotgun could appear a little less often as ground loot, the team at Raven Software replied:
“We’re taking a close look at the Streetsweeper in general. Changes are coming in the next update. No details to share just yet.”
By the sounds of this short message, Raven Software will drop a new patch this week which will dial back the number of shotguns that can be found scattered around the map.
The message received plenty of positive feedback from fans, with one commenting: “Thanks for at least acknowledging it.
“This is like when the Origin was meta & was ground loot literally everywhere on Verdansk. This increases camping a great deal. Please consider decreasing the amount of them. A full team shouldn’t all be able to get them in one building.”
