Borderlands 3 Director’s Cut DLC Delayed Until April 8

Gearbox Software has postponed the release of Borderlands 3 Director’s Cut DLC from March 18 to April 8. The delay was caused by severe power outages that hit Texas last month.

“Due to challenges arising from the severe weather that impacted Texas last month, the Director’s Cut add-on will now launch on April 8,” reads the statement from Gearbox. “Thankfully, all of our team members and their families are safe and healthy, but our work on Director’s Cut was unavoidably disrupted and we’ve ultimately decided to shift the release date to ensure we deliver the best possible experience. We appreciate your understanding, and we’re excited for you to play Director’s Cut when it releases next month.”

The Director’s Cut DLC will bring a host of new content to Borderlands 3, including a challenging new raid boss – Hemovorous the Invincible. There’s also a bizarre murder mystery questline, which sees you investigating anomalies across various locales and offering a reprieve from the usual running and gunning.

“Ava is convinced she has a lead on some potentially supernatural slayings and has decided to document her findings in serialized podcast form,” Gearbox said of the new missions. “Consider yourself her gun-toting co-host as you investigate strange happenings on Pandora, Promethea, Eden-6, and Nekrotafeyo in search of answers (and loot), with help from some familiar faces.”

Gearbox is keeping some of the details under wraps, but here’s a quick overview of what the Director’s Cut will bring on April 8:

  • A Colossal Raid Boss – Hemovorous the Invincible
  • Murder Mysteries
  • Vault Card Challenges
  • Dozens of New Rewards
  • Behind the Scenes Content

In other Borderlands news, the massive cast list for its spin-off movie continues to grow, and currently includes Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Florian “Big Nasty” Munteanu.

The Director’s Cut DLC for Borderlands 3 is now scheduled to launch on April 8.
