All Dying Light Players To Get Free Enhanced Edition Upgrade

Techland announced that starting today, May 5, all owners of the base Dying Light game are getting a free upgrade to the Enhanced Edition across all platforms. This means you don’t have to buy some of the game’s additional content, like The Following expansion.

The developer dropped the announcement on Twitter. Every player that owns the Standard Edition of the original Dying Light (not this year’s sequel) will be automatically upgraded to the Enhanced Edition. This applies to both physical and digital versions of the game across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation consoles.

To access your free new content, all you have to do is launch the game, select the option “DLC Packs” on the main menu, and manually download all the new goodies you want. What’s more, Dying Light Enhanced Edition is currently available in digital stores with a 60% discount. If you ever wanted to try this zombie-parkour action fest, now is probably the best time to do so.

The list of now free DLC includes massive expansion The Following, featuring an all-new story, map, and customized vehicle. Players also get The Bozak Horde (adding an extra game mode), Crash Test Skin Pack, Ultimate Survivor Bundle, and Cuisine & Cargo DLC packs. These bundles mostly grant you access to some new items like weapons and skins.

It is worth noting Dying Light Enhanced Edition doesn’t include all the content ever released for the game. Since the initial launch back in 2015, the Polish studio has released dozens of various DLC for the title, like Hellraid, offering fighting with hordes of enemies through generated dungeons. If you want the complete Dying Light experience, ‌look for the Platinum Edition, available at a massive discount until May 12.

Earlier, Techland announced that Dying Light has sold over 20 million copies. The sequel, Dying Light 2 Stay Human, also proved to be a huge success, selling over 5 million units just three weeks after the game launched on February 3.
