Sparking Arrow Gaming's DPL-CDA Pro League S2 ends on day one of playoffs

After the first two quarterfinal series came to a swift end
earlier in the day in the DPL-CDA Professional League Season 2, the losing
teams would have to fight for their tournament lives in the first lower bracket
series – with Invictus Gaming taking on Sparking Arrow Gaming.

Both iG and SAG saw themselves going down in 0-2 losses
earlier today in the DPL-CDA Pro League Season 2, falling to Vici Gaming and
Team Aster, respectively. To close out the day we would see one of the team’s
tournament come to an end as they would play against one another in the lower
bracket.

Having drafted the Phoenix twice in their losses earlier in
the day, SAG decided to take a different path and ban out the hero in all three
games of the series, not wanting their opponent to use it against them. Game
one would be extremely low scoring with a total of only 18 kills in the 35-minute
game. While iG looked to have a firm foothold in the early period, with Jin ‘flyfly’
Zhiyi’s Morphling looking extremely strong, as the game progressed, SAG was
able to punish their opponent and take a quick lead.

While game two was definitely more back-and-forth, both teams were making some extremely critical errors which led to their opponent finding openings. However, with multiple buybacks, die-backs and team fights, iG managed to remain standing and tied the series. As we went into the decisive game three, iG seemed to now be in the driver’s seat and took the final game by storm. A strange Hand of Midas pickup from Zhong ‘God-King’ Liushuai’s Terrorblade gave Flyfly’s Phantom Lancer all the space he required to take over the game and lead iG to a 2-1 victory.

With that, DPL-CDA Pro League Season 2 comes to an end for
the day, with Invictus Gaming managing to survive the onslaught and SAG being
the first team to be eliminated in the playoffs. Tomorrow we will see the likes
of PSG.LGD taking on EHOME and CDEC Gaming going up against Royal Never Give Up
– before the losing teams will play in an elimination series.
