Report: NXT Stars Appear Exempt From WWE Twitch Ban

Talent under contract under WWE’s NXT brand appears to be exempt from the recent third-party platform ban, according to a new report. On Oct. 29,  several performers under contract with WWE halted streaming activities and left messages to their communities announcing that they were pausing activities, with plans to return at some point.

The pause in streaming on platforms such as Twitch is the result of a decision by WWE management in September to curtail and take control of superstars’ streaming channels.

But according to Fightful journalist Sean Ross Sapp, the ban only applies to the main roster and not stars on the NXT brand. In fact, top NXT star Adam Cole (Austin Jenkins) streamed on Twitch as recently as Nov. 4, and Tyler Breeze (Mattias Clement)  hosted a live stream on Nov 5. It is unclear why at least some NXT stars appear to be exempt from the company’s overall ruling on streaming.

Stars that halted streaming last week include AJ Styles (Allen Neal Jones),  Cesaro (Claudio Castagnoli), Mia Yim (Stephanie Bell), Zelina Vega (Thea Megan Trinidad), and Aleister Black (Tom Budgen). WWE star Paige (Saraya-Jade Bevis)  defied WWE’s edict and continues to stream on Twitch as of this writing.
