Envy Gaming recruits Andy Rymer
Adam Rymer commented:
Gaming is the fastest-growing sport and most exciting area in all of media and entertainment right now. As a lifelong fan, harnessing that potential to drive forward an organization as highly regarded as Envy and working side-by-side with some of the top industry leaders is a huge honor, and a challenge I’m looking forward to taking on.
Rymer joins Envy Gaming with almost two decades of experience in film, television, digital marketing, and other media industries. This includes roles as President at Legendary Digital Networks, President at Nerdist Industries, Senior Vice President of Digital Platforms at Universal Pictures, and Manager of Strategic Planning & Business Development at Universal Music Group.
With a BA from Harvard University and an MBA from The Wharton School, Rymer will oversee the organization’s expansion into new esports titles. He will also focus on digital media, merchandising, and content creation.
Expansion to new esports titles
Mike Rufail, owner of Envy Gaming, added:
Adding Adam to our leadership team will help accelerate the steps we are taking to grow and reach Envy Gaming’s potential as an organization that delivers world-class entertainment, events, fan experiences, content and more.
I have focused on building a runway for Envy and the company’s teams, leagues and properties for many years. With Adam onboard, I can dedicate myself to my first passion: developing players and fielding competitive esports teams that maintain and build on our organization’s winning tradition.
Envy Gaming is most well known for its franchises in the Overwatch League and Call of Duty League, with the Dallas Fuel and Dallas Empire respectively. In addition, the organization fields teams in titles like Magic: The Gathering, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros., and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. There, Envy serves as a founding member of the Flashpoint league.
