Apex Legends: Valkyrie Revealed As Latest Legend, Coming in Season 9 Legacy
The latest Legends for Apex Legends has been revealed as Valkyrie joins the growing roster.
Unveiled via the new Apex Legends Stories “Northstar” Valkyrie has been officially unveiled. With a full reveal expected later in the month, these Apex Stories are often used as promotional hype for a new season or legend.
Who is Valkyrie?
“Bold, brash, fiery and fierce, Kairi Imahara grew up in the shadow of her father’s legacy. But now she’s ready to launch her own.” reads the quote on the Apex Legends site.
While the story kept a lot of the lore hidden, we did learn a few important things about Valkyrie.
Firstly, Valkyrie is the daughter of Viper, a former Apex Predator killed by Jack Cooper in Titanfall 2. Valkyrie is clearly what ties Apex Legends to Titanfall, something that was hinted at earlier this month. The fact Season 9 will be called “Legacy” rather than Season 9 is also a hint at what’s to come.
Northstar, the name of the story being told above, is also the name of a Titan from Titanfall 2, used by the aforementioned Viper. The Titan, Northstar is seen at the end of the video in Rampart’s workshop, meaning we might get a look at it in the future.
The video ends with a teaser for the next chapter “Stories from the Outlands” where which will drop on May 4. The date is likely to be either the release date of “Legacy” or when we get the official gameplay of the new season.
The Apex Legends site tells us that the Bocek Bow is:
“A powerful and deadly weapon, for those with the skill to wield it. Capable of inflicting tremendous damage at medium range, you’ll need to make each shot count.”
Changes to Olympus
The new Season: Legacy, will also see changes to Olympus. “An infestation has sprung loose, strangling the city with roots and natural growths.” While we know little about the changes, it’ll be interesting to see how much crossover we see from Titanfall.
Titanfall was a game people look back on fondly, and still has an active player base to this day. The game suffered from poor sales due to its poor release date. With Apex legends and Titanfall finally merging as one world, fans of Titanfall will be holding out hope for more standalone titles in the future.
